Prices depend on the number of travellers, hotel category, vehicle and travel dates, and are higher during Rath Yatra and the late-December to early-January peak. Children below 5 stay free when sharing the parents' bed; children aged 5 to 11 are charged at a reduced rate with an extra bed. Flights and trains from your city are not included, and we can help book them.

Tips for a Puri Family Trip with Kids and Grandparents
Best length for a family trip: 3 to 4 days
Day 1: arrive, check in near the beach, evening at Golden Beach. Day 2: early Jagannath Temple darshan, then a relaxed afternoon. Day 3: Marine Drive to Konark Sun Temple and Chandrabhaga Beach. Day 4: Chilika Lake dolphin boat ride, or Bhubaneswar and Nandankanan Zoo before your departure. Only one long drive per day, so children and grandparents do not get tired.
We plan darshan early in the morning when the queues are shorter. Mobile phones, bags, leather items and strollers cannot go inside, so leave them with your driver. Agree on a meeting point near the Lion Gate before entering, and keep small children close in the crowded inner areas.
We choose hotels a short walk from Golden Beach or the Swargadwar area, with family rooms, connecting rooms or an extra bed. For grandparents we ask for ground-floor or lift-access rooms. Tell us your children's ages when you enquire so we can book the right room.
The right vehicle for your family
Up to 4 people travel comfortably in a sedan, 5 to 7 in an Innova Crysta, and larger family groups in a Tempo Traveller. Every vehicle is air-conditioned and driven by a local driver who knows the temple routes and parking points.
Beach safety
The sea at Puri can have strong currents. Let children swim only in the flagged zones where lifeguards are on duty, and avoid the water after dark or when the red flag is up. Early morning and evening are the best times to play on the sand.

Food for children and elders
Breakfast is included at every hotel. Puri has plenty of pure-veg restaurants, and we can suggest places for Jain, South Indian or simple home-style meals. Try the Mahaprasad at Ananda Bazaar inside the temple, and carry snacks and water for the Konark and Chilika drives.
October to March is the most comfortable, and fits Puja, Diwali and winter school holidays. December and January are the busiest months, so book early. April to June is hot, so plan sightseeing for mornings and evenings. Rath Yatra in June or July is very crowded and is not ideal with small children.

What is the price for children?

Will a family of four get one room or two?

Three to four days. This covers Jagannath Temple, Golden Beach, Konark and Chilika with only one long drive per day. Add a day for Bhubaneswar and Nandankanan Zoo if your children enjoy wildlife.
Is the sea at Puri safe for children?

Can we take small children into Jagannath Temple?

Which vehicle will we get?

Do you arrange pickup if we are coming from another city?
Yes. Your driver meets you at Bhubaneswar Airport, Bhubaneswar railway station or Puri railway station. We can also help book flights or trains from Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and other cities.
How do we book, and what is the cancellation policy?
